Speaker A:We've got a lot of information to cover today, so buckle up your chinstraps and let's hit them hard.
Speaker A:Let's start off with a football historic event where weather played a major factor.
Speaker A:,:Speaker A:The Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay packers the by a mere safety being the only score in the entire contest.
Speaker A:Bears 2 Packers nothing according to reports, the Green Bay squad seemed to outplay the Bears for most of the game in a torrential downpour.
Speaker A:Green Bay moved the ball decently but missed three field goals due in part to the sloppy conditions.
Speaker A:The score happened on the second play of the four stanza when Bears guard Tommy Jones jumped on an errant backwards pass by Packers Arnie Herbert for the two pointer.
Speaker A:ward a few pages and we go to:Speaker A:esota Vikings by the score of:Speaker A:Tittle's record was 212 touchdown passes.
Speaker A:Unitis went on to throw a bunch more as he finished his great career with 290 total scoring throws.
Speaker A:No wonder he was called the man with the Golden Arm.

Speaker A:His powerful lower body and graceful control allowed him to slash through would be tacklers.
Speaker A:Pug's strong arm and large hands allowed him to rifle passes of 60 yards or more through the air with uncanny accuracy.
Speaker A:Offensive play was not his only talent though, as he was known to reel off long return yards on punts, kicks and interceptions.
Speaker A:The:Speaker A:It looked like they might go undefeated, but they had one game remaining, a charity contest with Purdue University.
Speaker A:The Wildcats were heavily favored over the Boilermakers in the game, but the night prior to the contest, several members of the Northwestern team were involved in an elevator accident.
Speaker A:No one was injured.
Speaker A:The team was shook though, and Purdue capitalized on the less than stellar play by the Cats and gave Northwestern its only loss of the season.
Speaker A:After the:Speaker A:After college, Rentner played professional football for both the Boston Redskins and the Chicago Bears.
Speaker A:lege Football hall of Fame in:Speaker A:,:Speaker A:football programs in the mid-:Speaker A:layed for the Penn Quakers in:Speaker A:for the Quakers once again in:Speaker A:Minnesi's impact was almost immediate in 44 as he aided the Quakers in an improbable victory over a strong Duke Blue Devils squad.
Speaker A:With his fine play that same season, the Underclassman completed a 69 yard pick six against Dartmouth College and in Michigan game he tore off a 67 yard touchdown run.
Speaker A:In:Speaker A:That had to be bittersweet for many in the stadium that day, but the very next season in 46 Minnessee back in a Quaker uniform was instrumental in a victory over his former Navy teammates.
Speaker A:Wow, what a roller coaster of events.
Speaker A:l of Fame and in the class of:Speaker A:,:Speaker A:That's the birth of Billy Sims, who's a former running back from the University of Oklahoma.
Speaker A:national championship team of:Speaker A:An early season injury derailed his participation in the 76 season, but because of so few minutes logged, the NCAA granted Simms an extra year of eligibility.
Speaker A:Did Billy Sims ever make that extra time count?
Speaker A:With hard work and rehab and recuperation, Sims turned into a superstar in college football running backs.
Speaker A:In:Speaker A:Player of the year honors in:Speaker A:After the:Speaker A:etroit Lions drafted Billy in:Speaker A:lege Football hall of fame in:Speaker A:Picking up at the clock, the time's running down.
