On This Day Football on the 14th of January1972 Miami Dolphins Undefeated Season
On January 14, 1973, the 1972 Miami Dolphins sealed the deal to become one of the greatest teams in NFL history. They went undefeated in the regular season and won Super Bowl VII, becoming the only team in NFL history to accomplish this feat in the Super Bowl era. The Dolphins, led by head coach Don Shula, are considered one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. Shula was known for his strict discipline and his demanding training regimen. He also had a knack for developing talent and putting his players in positions to succeed. The Dolphins had several All-Star players on their roster in 1972, including quarterback Bob Griese, running back Larry Csonka, wide receiver Paul Warfield, and defensive tackle Manny Fernandez. Griese was an intelligent and efficient quarterback who managed the game well. Csonka was a powerful and elusive runner who was one of the most dominant forces in the NFL. Warfield was a big-play receiver who could stretch the field and create opportunities for his teammates. Fernandez was a dominant defensive force who helped clog up running lanes and pressure opposing quarterbacks. The Dolphins were a complete team in 1972. Miami had a high-powered offense that averaged over 25 points per game, and they had a stingy, "No-Name" defense that allowed just over 12 points per game. The Dolphins capped off their undefeated season with a 14-7 victory over the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII. It was a close game, but the Dolphins could make the big plays when it mattered most.

Minneapolis Miracle
January 14, 2018, was when the 2018 NFC Divisional Playoffs were being held. A game that sent the New Orleans Saints North to play the Minnesota Vokings went down the last play. Literally! New Orleans rallied back from a 17 point first-half deficit and established a 24–23 lead with only 25 seconds remaining. On the last play of the game, Minnesota quarterback Case Keenum threw a 27-yard pass to wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The Saints had it fairly well defended but somehow safety Marcus Williams missed the tackle that would have ended the contest. This allowed Diggs to run to the end zone for a 61-yard game-winning touchdown pass. This game was the first in NFL playoffs history to end in a touchdown as time expired.
