April 4, 2020 ~ In this article our Off-Field Spotlight shines on the Boston Area. Multiple reports this week report that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft commissioned his Patriots team jet to fly to China to get personal protective supplies for American Healthcare workers in their fight against coronavirus.
CNN.com reports that the Patriots aircraft returned to Boston with 1.2 million N95 masks that according to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker will be distributed from Gillette Stadium to healthcare providers across his state. Per an undisclosed source the governor was frustrated when he learned that his state was outbid for N95 masks by the Federal Government. This led the state’s leader to work with Robert Kraft and the Patriots brass to organize the trip to China to get the masks from where they were manufactured.
Mr. Baker and Mr. Kraft we applaud your generous efforts to help others by supporting this equipment transport for our frontline fighters against the disease. We celebrate you and all in our football family that are there to do great things for others. If our readers are aware of anyone else associated with any level of American football that has done a great act of kindness, please let us know via email at PigskinDispatch@gmail.com and we will get one of the crack staff to get an article up to celebrate these good people of football.
