Authors Jeffrey Miller and Greg Tranter visit the Pigpen in this episode to talk about their latest book titled RELICS and its unique way to preserve Western New York Football History!
Vintage Buffalo Football Stories
RELICS is an interesting way to visualize and chronicle Buffalo Bills history.Relics Tell The Story
I recently caught up with a couple of fellow members of the Professional Football Researchers Association to talk about a great concept of the football history book that they thought of and put together. Grag Tranter and Jeff Miller, both of Western New York and Bills fans and collectors of Buffalo memorabilia since an early age had a brilliant idea to connect their passion for their favorite team with their collections and then share it with fans across the world. They two men wrote a book called RELICS where they show a photo or two of the object and then tell a story of how it fits into the Bills History.

Greg's says his collection exceed 85,000 piece of Buffalo football collectables, the largest collection of this team in the world, and Jeff's collection from what I understand is pretty substantial too. Everything from football cards, every game program of every Bill's game ever played to Ralph Wilson's Gold Hall of Fame Jacket, incedible!
Listen to the podcast for details and stories centered around the book. Also you need to get a copy of this treasure that uniquely preserve football history in such an interesting way. To get your copy you can go to the Buffalo News Website where the RELICS book can be ordered.
Another way is to call the publisher St. Johann via phone at 201-387-1529 (they do not have online ordering) or send an email request to d.biesel@verizon.net.

These guys have each written other great works on sports history as well.
Greg Tranter has one other book that is not strictly football, but is all Buffalo Professional Sports from 1857 to the present. It covers all of Buffalo’s professional football teams including the 1920’s All Americans the 1940-41 Tigers/Indians and the Bills/Bisons of 1946-49, plus the current day Bills. The book is titled: Makers, Moments and Memorabilia: A Chronicle of Buffalo Professional Sports . Just click on the link of the title to get a copy of that one.
Jeffrey Miller has a collection of titles as well including 100 Things Bills Fans Should Know and Do with a forward by former Head Coach Marv Levy, Rockin’ the Rockpile: The Buffalo Bills of the American Football League and so more.
