Here just in time to go over some New York Giants football history and we're going to cover it from the stadiums they played in and their name that they called.

Host:This is Darren.
Host:He's a pigskind.
Host:season in:Host:And we are here to tell you again on another Monday about some great New York Football Giants history.
Host:And what a better way to do it than to talk about the history of the naming of the Giants.
Host:We really haven't discussed that and we're getting near the end of the season and I think it's probably the appropriate time to do that.
Host:Now.
Host:The Giants, where would that name come from?
Host:Well, as many of you probably guessed, it came from the baseball team who are now the San Francisco giants.
Host:But before:Host:So in:Host:He would go on their shirt tails and call themselves the New York Football Giants.
Host:Well, there was another Giants team in the NFL a year before it was the NFL when it was called the American Professional Football association, the apfa.
Host:They were the known as the Brooklyn Giants or Brickley's Giants or Brickley's Brooklyn Giants, named after Charles Brickley who was, you know, a great player at Harvard and played on that team, hence the Brickley Giants.
Host:They were trying to use his name to draw the crowd and they did.
Host:They played:Host:Mara has his entry in there.
Host:The New York Football Giants.
Host:Carry on.
Host:Today, that's the 100 seasons that we're talking about.
Host:So we know that they played in the Polo Grounds.
Host:ayed in the polo grounds from:Host:river at Yankee Stadium from:Host:They then took a break as they were trying to get their stadium built.
Host:owl up in Connecticut from in:Host:1975 they played at Shea Stadium where the New York jets played.
Host:So the teams did share stadium prior to the Meadowlands.
Host:ants Stadium was completed in:Host:And of course,:Host:And that's the history we have for the New York Football Giants.
Host:Their name where it came from a pre previous team in the NFL that was a Brooklyn Giants or New York Giants, Brickley's Giants and all the stadiums that the New York Giants called home.
