August 15, 1950 – Sam Cunningham, a former USC fullback, entered the College Football Hall of Fame in the 2010 class of enshrinements.
He was part of USC’s 1972 national championship team and was voted an All-American that same season. [National Football Foundation]
He played in the National Football League for the New England Patriots from 1973 through the 1982 season, and in 1978 made the Pro Bowl.
He is an NFL quarterback, Randall Cunningham‘s older brother, and wow, does that family have some offensive talent in their bloodline.
