August 14, 1907 – Johnny Baker, a guard from the University of Southern California, was born.
Baker was a two-time All-American at the position. In 1983, Mr. Baker was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
After his playing days, Baker became the head coach of the football team at the Iowa State Teachers College, now known as Northern Iowa, and the University of Denver.
Then later, Sacramento State College, now called California State University of Sacramento.
