Jack Lambert

Born July 8, 1952, in Mantua, Ohio, was Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrined LB, Jack Lambert  that played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lambert won 4 Super Bowl rings with the original Steel Curtain Defense and was a perennial All-Pro. Mr. Lambert attended and played his college ball at Kent State University. Lambert was a two-year All-Mid America Conference linebacker at Kent State and a second-round draft selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1974 earning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.  As an NFL player his intensity and ferocity was seldom matched and he played his best ball when an opponent would emotionally charge him up. Perhaps his biggest play happened at the most opportune moment in the top game of the season when he picked off a pass late in the fourth quarter preserved Pittsburgh's fourth NFL title victory in Super Bowl XIV. According to the ProFootballHOF.com website Lambert had 28 interceptions and 17 fumble recoveries in his eleven seasons in the Steel City. Jack was an 8 time All-Pro who played in 9 Pro Bowl games during his career as well as being honored twice as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year.
