December 3, 1922 - Guadalajara, Mexico - Tom Fears was born and went on to be a great end at both Santa Clara and UCLA. According to footballfoundation.org, Fears was on Santa Clara’s team when he was a sophomore, and then he left there to serve in the U.S. Air Force.
After his military stint, he followed his brother to UCLA, where during his 1946 junior season, the Bruins went through the regular season undefeated as the nation's fourth-ranked team.
