June 6, 1879 - Jimmy Johnson was the quarterback for the Carlisle Indian Industrial School from 1899 to 1903, as well as Northwestern University's Dental School in 1904 and 1905. Mr. Johnson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1969.
The star QB was of Stockbridge Indian Heritage, and fit in well with his other Native American teammates under head coach Pop Warner at the Native American boarding school in Eastern Pennsylvania.
