Prior to that he spawned a charity movement for the impoverished folks in his hometown of Athens, Ohio during his Heisman Award acceptance speech where he reflected on the fact that many kids in the school district go home hungry each day. Those simple selfless words on that big national stage raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Athens County Food Bank, per a report in the DailyMail.com.
