The World Football League was a professional gridiron organization that played games in 1974 and 1975. The WFL tried to be a rival with the more well established NFL but part way through the second season the league folded due to financial restrictions. They did however set some items in motion, launched careers of some great players, and were the downfalls of others. The impact of the WFL is still remembered half a century later.
