Great moments in NFL history stay with us through the years, they remind us that the unexpected can often happen. The great moments also influence how we wager our money on the NFL.

A great moment can change the odds in the future, in favor of the team who made magic happen. This is not always the case, but it can be. NFL odds can see change as bookies notice a team has potential to make these magic moments happen. This is a sponsored article contributed by a paid advertiser.

What kind of magic moments do we mean? Well, the Minneapolis Miracle is a great example of this. It was an incredible moment in NFL history that no one who saw it will soon be forgetting.

What Happened Exactly?

So, what happened in the Minneapolis Miracle? For those of you who may be new to the NFL, the Minneapolis Miracle is also often known as the ‘Minnesota Miracle.

It was the NFC divisionals, a game between the Vikings and the Saints in 2018. This was the 5th game between the Saints and Vikings in their history, and they have been rivals for a while.

The Vikings started off the first quarter with 10 points, and the second quarter with another 7, taking them up to 17. But in the third quarter the Saints scored 7, and the Vikings got nothing.

In the fourth, the Saints got another 17 points, totaling them at 24, while the Vikings were at 23 with mere seconds left. The Saints had a single point lead, and it wasn’t looking good for the Vikings.

In the last play, the quarterback, Keenum, threw a pass, 27 yards long to his wide receivers, Diggs. The Saints’ safety missed the opportunity for a tackle, so Diggs just ran on to the end zone.

He completed a whole 61-yard touchdown, making it quite the incredible feat for the Vikings, and gave them the win they needed.

It was the first ever game in the history of NFL playoffs to end as time ran out, with a touchdown.

An Incredible Catch

The pass made from Keenum to Diggs was something like it had come out of a Hollywood movie. However, if you were watching the game from the edge of your seat in the stadium that day, you would have seen just how incredible this feat actually was.

Fans were in utter awe as they watched it unfold, as if they had seen the Vikings perform the impossible, which they may as well have.

Both of these legends have gone on away from the Vikings, Keenum has gone around the league from franchise to franchise as a backup, for the most part.

Diggs, on the other hand, had scored himself a multiple year deal of $104 million with the Bills.

Even though they no longer play together, everyone knows they will forever be associated with one another for this epic play on their home turf back in 2018.

What Was On The Line For Them?

What exactly was on the line for both of these teams though? Well, both of them were fighting to take on the Eagles in the NFC Championship and then go on to the Super Bowl.

The game and in fact, the whole playoff season was a huge deal to the Vikings, as it could have made them the first ever team in NFL history to play the Super Bowl on their home turf. However, this has now been done by the Buccaneers and the Rams in the two most recent Super Bowls.

But, what happened on the day? Well, both teams had 59 minutes of utter awesome football behind them, the Vikings were in the lead and the Saints suddenly plowed through. But the Vikings only took it back in less than 30 seconds!

After the miracle, the Vikings went on to the NFC Championship where they faced the Eagles.

However, the Eagles were at the top of their game, and the Vikings were slaughtered at 38-7 to the Eagles.

The Eagles then went on to face New England. While this was during the Brady era of New England, they did not win. The Eagles were too hot to trot in the 2017-2018 playoffs and took the Super Bowl home.

Philadelphia scored 41-33 against the Patriots. However, for the Eagles to beat the Brady Patriots in the Super Bowl that year, you know they were going great. In itself the fact that the Vikings faced such a hot Eagles team in the playoffs is an achievement in its own right.
