June 12, 1947 - Sandstone, Minnesota - Steve Kiner, an All-American linebacker from the University of Tennessee from 1967 to 1969, was born.
The National Football Foundation has a nice write-up bio on Kiner, stating that he was a consensus All-America in 1968 and a unanimous All-America in 1969 as a linebacker. The 1968 team, led by linebacker Kiner, set a school record by holding opponents to a remarkably low average of just 93 yards per game on the ground.
Kiner was named to Tennessee's all-time 100-year team. Steve Kiner was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999. Mr. Kiner went pro and played in the NFL for a total of nine seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and the Houston Oilers.

"Dallas Cowboys Franchise History"
Founded in 1960 as an expansion team, the Dallas Cowboys have become one of the most recognizable and storied franchises in NFL history. Their journey, however, hasn't been without its share of ups and downs, twists and turns. Let's delve into the key chapters of the Dallas Cowboys' legacy:
"The 1977 NFL Draft: A Class of Promise"
The 1977 NFL Draft, held on May 3-4 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, is remembered for the arrival of several transformative players who would go on to shape the league for years to come. This draft featured a wealth of talent at key positions, and while some selections didn't pan out as expected, the impact of those who did succeed is still felt today. The draft order was determined by the previous season's standings, with the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers holding the first overall pick.
"Jimmy Johnson Leaves Cowboys Post"
March 29, 1994 - Coach Jimmy Johnson resigns as head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Johnson left the Cowboys because of a feud with owner Jerry Jones. Johnson coached five seasons in Dallas, made the playoffs in his last three seasons, and walked away from the Cowboys after winning back-to-back Super Bowls of Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXVIII.
