Sid Luckman had a historic performance on December 26, 1943, in the NFL Championship Game against the Washington Redskins. He led the Chicago Bears to a 41-21 victory by throwing for 286 yards and a championship game-record five touchdown passes. This performance capped off an exceptional 1943 season for Luckman, during which he was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player.
