Richard David "Dave" Robinson was born on May 3, 1941, in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He established himself as a formidable force in American football, earning accolades at both the collegiate and professional levels.

College Career

Dave Robinson's college football career at Penn State University from 1960 to 1962 was marked by exceptional play. He was aletterman for three years as an end. During his time with the Nittany Lions, the team achieved a 24-8 record, secured two Lambert Trophies (awarded to the best team in the East), and participated in the Liberty Bowl and twice in the Gator Bowl. In 1962, Robinson's outstanding performance earned him All-American honors. He was also named MVP of the 1962 Gator Bowl. His achievements in college football led to his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.

Road to the Pro Game

Robinson's prowess on the field led him to a successful professional career. He was drafted in the first round (14th overall) of the 1963 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He was also drafted in the third round of the AFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. Robinson chose to play in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers.

He played ten seasons with the Packers (1963-1972) and concluded his NFL career with the Washington Redskins (1973-1974).

At Penn State, he was an All-American and helped his team achieve significant success.
