Juhan's football career centered around his time at Sewanee, where he played center from 1908 to 1910. According to the National Football Foundation, Juhan was a standout player who excelled on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he played center, and defensively, he pioneered the "roving linebacker" position in the South, a then-new and innovative role.
Juhan's athletic prowess extended beyond the gridiron. He was a versatile athlete, competing in track, where he was a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) mile champion, and in baseball. He also showcased his skills in the boxing ring, becoming a Southern Intercollegiate champion. Notably, he once participated in an exhibition match with former world heavyweight champion Bob Fitzsimmons.
During Juhan's football years, Sewanee achieved remarkable success. From 1908 to 1910, the team compiled an impressive 18-4-3 record, securing victories against formidable opponents such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Louisiana State. One of their losses was to Princeton, a major Eastern football power.
