Steelers and Dolphins Work Out Monster...

The end of June is supposed to be a "quiet time" of NFL news as Organized Team Activities and Mini-Camps are over, and players relax before training camps open in late July. That was not the case in Southern Florida and Western Pennsylvania, however, when, on June 30, 2025, news broke that the Dolphins and Steelers had worked out a blockbuster trade.

Miami had reacquired the services of All-Pro Safety Minka Fitzpaterick and a later round 2027 pick in exchange for All-Pro Corner Jalen Ramsey and 2024 Phin's leading receiver Jonnu Smith, and a seventh round 2027 Draft selection.

The theme of this trade could have the 1970s hit song by Peaches and Herb, "Reunited," playing as Fitzpatrick, initially drafted by the Dolphins in the 2018 NFL Draft and then dealt to Pittsburgh for a 2020 First-Round Pick, is back in South Beach. Likewise, Jonnu Smith has returned to be an offensive weapon for the Steelers' offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, who also coached the standout tight end in Tennessee and later traded for him when Arthur was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.
