In 1960, during Jordan's sophomore year, Alabama achieved an 8-1-2 record, with a notable 3-3 tie against Texas in the Bluebonnet Bowl. Jordan's senior season in 1962 was a resounding success. He was unanimously named an All-America selection, a testament to his outstanding play and leadership.
