The 2010 NFL Draft, held on April 22, 2010, was a significant event for many franchises, as they looked to secure the next generation of NFL talent. The St. Louis Rams, holding the first overall pick, selected Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford. While Bradford had a promising college career, injuries and inconsistency marked his time in the NFL.
The early part of the first round saw several defensive stars being chosen. The Detroit Lions, with the second overall pick, selected defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh from the University of Nebraska. Suh quickly established himself as one of the most dominant and controversial defensive linemen in the league. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers followed by selecting defensive tackle Gerald McCoy from the University of Oklahoma with the third overall pick.
