July 15, 2022 - The International Olympic Committee announced that it was fully reinstating Jim Thorpe as the sole Gold Medal winner in two events that were stripped from him in 1913 from the 1912 Olympics, for allegedly playing baseball in 1910 and getting paid for housing /food expenses.

For over a century, Thorpe's Olympic honor had been tarnished.
