Introduction

The Bulls have played college football since 1894, when fourteen UB Medical students formed the first University of Buffalo football team. By 1896, the U of Buffalo eleven were a local force in Western New York football playing collegiate and club teams and finishing the season with an impressive 9–1–2 record. In 1897, C. W. Dibble coached UB to a perfect 7–0–0 record beating Syracuse twice. In 1899, Bemus Pierce coached UB to a 6–0 record.
