Born January 8, 1922, in Jamesville, New York was the great guard from Penn State University, Number 62, Steve Suhey, was born. Steve played at Penn State right out of high school, but then the world was embroiled in a war. He served in the Army Air Corps for three years during WWII, which interrupted his college play. Steve was voted in as an All-American in 1947, and according to the NFF, his hometown of Cazenovia, New York, threw a party for him. Suhey hitchhiked his way from State College back to NY for the banquet, and there, his friends and family celebrated his accomplishments. They even chipped in and bought him a new car so that he could drive back to school. When Suhey's studies were completed at PSU, he played with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL for some time. The College Football Hall of Fame inducted Steve Suhey into their museum in 1985 posthumously.
