8 Tight Ends To Watch Out For This Season

We are well into Week 6 of the NFL season, and if you follow Fantasy Football or simply want to know what's going on, it’s time to point out the best Tight Ends so far.

If you’re looking to place a bet on any of these tight ends to win the MVP, or if you think you know that one of them will score the first touchdown this weekend, then make sure you check out which Sportsbooks are legal in your state.

    1. Zach Ertz - Arizona Cardinals

Zach Ertz is the obvious choice of starting Tight End for any fantasy football team. So far this season he has made 28 receptions, 41 receiving targets, 229 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns.

His next game is against the Seahawks, and Ertz will have to hold up against Will Dissy. Dizzy may be a strong player, but he has only received 137 yards this season so far. With 1 touchdown and 15 receiving targets under his belt, Ertz should be able to outplay his main competitor.

    2. George Kittle - San Francisco 49ers

The next Tight End we want to boost is Goerge Kittle. His next game is against the Falcons, and the 49ers are currently predicted to win.

Granted Kittle hasn’t been doing as well as we expected so far this season, but neither have the Falcons. So far they have lost 3 out of 5 games, and if you’re watching the fantasy points, you’ll notice them giving away numbers left, right, and center.

The main area of fault in the Falcons is their Tight Ends, which is why Kittle has a chance to shine.

So far he has made 11 receptions, 15 receiving targets, and 99 receiving yards this season. With the next game up against the Falcons, Kittle might be able to turn his stats around.

    3. David Njoku - Cleveland Browns

All season David Njoku has been making waves. Just looking at his stats alone, Njoku has made 24 receptions, 29 receiving targets, 289 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown. These numbers are phenomenal and a true reflection of his skill.

If you’re a fantasy sports player, you’ll have noticed Njoku bringing in over 48 points through the last three games alone.

His next match is against the New England Patriots, and the sportsbooks predict the Browns to win. As Tight End Jonnu Smith has been flagged with an injury, we might not see any real competition for Njoku to worry about.

    4. Irv Smith Jr - Minnesota Vikings

Because we are currently in the bye-week section of the season, it’s time to look outside the box for any potential replacements. Smith Jr has been a phenomenal asset to his team, achieving 14 receptions, 25 receiving targets, 133 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.

The odds for the Vikings vs Dolphins match are still a little shaky, but you can be sure that Smith Jr will stay steady - just like he has been this whole season.

    5. Dalton Schultz - Dallas Cowboys

So far we have been talking about the great Tight Ends to power through this season, but now we need to watch out for the players best sat on the bench. If you see any of the next 4 players on your team you know that trouble is coming your way.

Let's start off this mess with Dalton Schultz. Schultz has barely made a dent this season, only completing 9 receptions and 80 receiving yards. Looking at this fantasy sheet, the last three weeks haven't been worth 2 points.

Granted Schultz does have a dodgy knee, but that's another reason to watch out for this player on the field.

    6. Hayden Hurst - Cincinnati Bengals

Less than a day ago, Hurst was flagged with a groin injury which means he might not be a part of the upcoming New Orleans Saints match. But that isn’t why we have brought Hirst to your attention.

Hurst has been a fantastic player so far this season, but up against the Saints, history suggests that he won’t make a dent. New Orleans hasn’t given up a touchdown to a Tight End this season, and with his injury, Hurst probably won't be the exception to this rule.

    7. Hunter Henry - New England Patriots

Henry’s last game was his best all season, as he managed to scrape over 9 points from his opposition - the Lions. However, Detroit was missing their best Tight End and their defensive team was playing like high school kids.

With the Patriots up against the Cleveland Browns, we can’t expect the same power from Henry. That being said, if Hunter can keep this momentum going, he will be one to watch out for.

    8. Tyler Conklin - New York Jets

Conklin started off strong this season, but in the last couple of weeks, his numbers have started to drop. Projected to hit 653 receiving yards this season, Conklin is still holding on with his current 192 total.

For Conklin, this is his turning point. He will either relight his power and reach his projected numbers or he will falter behind the Green Bay Packers.

Summary

All 8 of these players have the power to bring their team to the win, but battling injuries and self-doubt could be enough to stop them from reaching the Super Bowl.
