Veteran NFL journalist Tyler Dunne has traveled far a wide to sit down with some of the toughest and most famous Pro Football Tight Ends that ever buckled up the chin-strap. We were proud to have the chance to sit down and discuss a football topic on How the Tight End Is the Sport Itself Distilled to One Position with Tyler Dunne Author of the New Book THE BLOOD AND GUTS: How Tight Ends Saved Football. Tyler is a veteran NFL journalist who covered teams like the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills for some great publications. He now has his own gig writing some fantastic long-form gridiron posts on GoLongTD.com.
The Book Blood and Guts is filled with face-to-face one-on-one interviews Mr. Dunne conducted with some of the top players in NFL history that played the position. Stars like Rob Gronkowski, Jackie Smith, Jimmy Graham, Tony Gonzalez, Mike Ditka, Ozzie Newsome, Jeremy Shockey, George Kittle, John Mackey., and more.
These fellas defined the and morphed the position into what it is today. They are unique because they are expected to keep a gian defensive end at bay blocking and then run a go route to catch a long pass on the next. Part offensive, lineman part wide receiver these guys are expected to do it all and that is what makes them special.
